Lionel Messi, the world’s best soccer player from Argentina, arrived in Chinese Hong Kong with the Major League Soccer team Inter Miami. He will play on February 4 at the Hong Kong Stadium.
At 15:00 on February 2, the team arrived at the Hong Kong International Airport. The Hong Kong SAR government and the organizers held a welcome ceremony for them.
On Saturday (Feb. 3), the team will practice publicly at the Hong Kong Stadium and participate in a community football training camp in the evening. There will be an exhibition match against the Hong Kong team on Sunday (Feb. 4) at 4 p.m.
Previously, nearly 2 million Hong Kong fans had purchased tickets for the match online, with ticket prices ranging from HK$880 to HK$4,880. Recently, many Hong Kong landmarks, such as the large advertising boards on the exterior walls of Sogo Department Store in Causeway Bay, have been replaced with electronic promotional posters for the event. Promotional photos of Inter Miami's pink jersey were also posted inside the MTR station.
