On the afternoon of October 17, representatives from the Guangdong University of Finance and Economics (GDUFE) took part in the "World University Presidents' Guangzhou Tour and Guangzhou Higher Education Exchange" event held at Guangzhou University. The invitation came from the Guangzhou Center for International Exchange and Cooperation.
Dr. Ming Zhao, Director of the International Business Department at GDUFE's International Business School and representative of the China-US Youth Maker Exchange Center, along with Dr. Meilan Chen, Director of the International Programs Center at the International Business School, represented the university at this prestigious gathering.
The delegation included members from various international organizations and overseas institutions, such as the World University Presidents Association, the World Federation of United Nations Associations, the Association of African Universities, the American Council on Education, and the Association of Pacific Rim Universities. Representatives from Washington University of Technology, the University of California Berkeley, Fort Hays State University, Akawaine University, and Georgian Aviation University were also present.
This visit was guided by the Foreign Affairs Office of Guangzhou Municipal Government and the Guangzhou Education Bureau, with strong support from the World University Presidents Association, the Panyu District Committee of Guangzhou, and the governments of Panyu and Tianhe districts.
The event aimed to promote bilateral exchanges between Guangzhou's higher education institutions, advanced enterprises, and overseas universities in areas of technological innovation, educational cooperation, and talent exchange. It also sought to inject new vitality into Guangzhou's high-level international cooperation and openness.
During the event, attendees engaged in in-depth discussions. Dr. Zhao and Dr. Chen had productive conversations with Steve Farr, Executive Director of the Guangzhou International Sister-City University Alliance Secretariat, Dr. Qun Fan, Chairman of the Guangzhou Center for International Exchange and Cooperation, and other university representatives. They explored the development of the China-US Youth Maker Center and opportunities for overseas exchanges and collaborations.
This event marks a significant step in fostering international academic relationships and showcases Guangzhou's commitment to global educational partnerships.
