As part of the event, Guangdong Communication Polytechnic signed agreements with the University of California, Davis, and the Railway Transport College, Georgia, respectively. These partnerships aim to cultivate a large cohort of professionals proficient in Mandarin and equipped with advanced technical skills.
Since its establishment seven years ago, the Guangdong Provincial "Belt and Road" Vocational Education Alliance has expanded its membership from 54 to 105 institutions, including 76 vocational schools, 12 enterprises, seven industry associations, and 10 overseas entities. The alliance has achieved significant milestones in areas such as talent cultivation, teaching reforms, cooperatively-run educational projects, academic exchanges, faculty development, scientific research, and resource sharing.
The event also featured the launch and certification ceremony of the first cohort of "Lingnan Artisan Polytechnics." To enhance China-foreign collaboration in vocational education and establish a globally recognized Guangdong vocational education brand, the Department of Education of Guangdong designated Guangdong Communication Polytechnic and 11 other institutions, as the first batch of "Lingnan Artisan Polytechnics".
