China keeps nice balance between economic development and environmental protection: John Speakman

While delivering China's Government Work Report for 2023, Chinese Premier Li Keqiang said that in the past five years, the ecological environment was significantly improved as energy consumption per unit of GDP dropped by 8.1 percent, and carbon dioxide emissions per unit of GDP fell by 14.1 percent.

John Roger Speakman, British physiologist, foreign member of National Academy of Sciences, United States, expressed that China keeps nice balance between economic development and environmental protection. Meanwhile, he also hailed deeper integrated development between Hong Kong and other mainland cities of GBA. He described the future of GBA as bright and promising.
