Indulge in seafood delights at Doumen! The unique allure of 'Baitengtou'

When it comes to seafood dining in Zhuhai, many diners opt for Doumen's "Baitengtou." As one of the major seafood trading centers in South China, Baitengtou Seafood Wholesale Market has become a favorite destination for seafood enthusiasts due to its diverse seafood selection and reasonable prices.

Since the implementation of the "Northbound Travel for Hong Kong Vehicles" policy and "Northbound Travel for Macao Vehicles" policy, Baitengtou has become one of the preferred destinations for short leisure trips for tourists from Hong Kong and Macao. During the recent May Day holiday, many tourists from Hong Kong and Macao drove here to purchase seafood, enjoy gourmet meals, and explore the night market.

Winnie and her husband from Hong Kong specifically visited the BaiTengtou Seafood Wholesale Market to buy seafood. "We heard that the seafood market here is huge and the seafood is very fresh, so we came here to take a look," Winnie said, pointing to the deep-sea fish at Li Bo's stall. "Fish like this are hard to find fresh in the markets in Hong Kong."

"In terms of prices, they are at least half cheaper, and some are even two-thirds cheaper," Winnie said. "For example, the marbled rockfish costs 400 yuan per kilogram in Hong Kong, but here it's only 150 yuan per kilogram." The Fan couple from Hong Kong remarked, "We usually buy butter crabs for over 4,000 yuan per kilogram in Hong Kong, but here it's about 1,400 yuan per kilogram. We really enjoy shopping at Baitengtou."

With the continuous increase in customer traffic and the growing demand for seafood, to ensure the quality of seafood products and enhance the shopping experience for residents, Zhuhai has set up a visitor service center at the east gate of the Baitengtou Seafood Wholesale Market, providing services such as rest areas, claims, weighing, and consultations for consumers. The market has specially appointed quality control commissioners to monitor prices on a daily basis. The market conducts strict daily inspections of seafood quality to ensure that customers are provided with reasonably priced and high-quality goods. Additionally, unified weighing instruments and lightweight transparent seafood bags are used to alleviate customer concerns about purchases.

To boost nighttime consumption, the newly upgraded Zhuhai's first seafood-themed night market officially opened at the main entrance of the Baitengtou Seafood Wholesale Market during this year's May Day holiday, attracting many foodies. According to statistics, the daily average foot traffic of the night market can reach around 3,000 people. During weekends and holidays, the number of tourists from Hong Kong and Macao increases significantly, accounting for about 40% of the total.
