In recent years, digital technologies such as 5G, AI, big data, and blockchain have been continuously driving innovation in the media industry and reshaping digital content production. Nanfang Media Group, the most influential of its kind in Guangdong and the only one in the province selected as a "National Cultural and Technological Integration Demonstration Base", has been leading the new wave of media transformation. With the development of the apps Nanfang Plus, GDToday, and Nanfang Smart Media Cloud ("Two Apps and One Cloud"), the group has positioned itself at the forefront of media technology integration and development.

Since its launch in November 2023, GDToday has gained momentum, partnering with over 1,000 global media outlets and attracting nearly 20 million overseas users.  As an international media organization of Nanfang Media Group, GDToday is committed to providing accurate and timely news and various audio-visual services to global audiences in English, Portuguese, French, Japanese, and other foreign languages, as well as Cantonese and other dialects. In addition to world breaking news, it publishes authoritative information about policies of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and Guangdong Province, reports economic and social news in Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao, and communicates Lingnan culture. It serves as a window to showcase the Greater Bay Area and Guangdong to the world and promote communication and understanding between China and other countries by telling the stories of China, the Greater Bay Area, and Guangdong.

The Nanfang Plus app has been downloaded over 180 million times, with more than 6 million daily active users, making it the leading mobile media platform in the Greater Bay Area.

The Nanfang Smart Media Cloud, with its independent intellectual property rights, serves as the core tech platform for media integration across Guangdong province.

The partnership with Huawei represents a significant breakthrough in exploring new horizons in customer service. The distributed technology supported by HarmonyOS will enable Nanfang Media Group to innovate further and explore new application scenarios for "Two Apps and One Cloud", helping develop more intelligent and personalized services and creating a new intelligent ecosystem that will deliver high-quality content to a broader audience.

At the signing ceremony, Huang Can, Editor-in-Chief of Nanfang Media Group, emphasized the need for collective efforts in building the "Two Apps and One Cloud". He highlighted Huawei's exceptional technological capabilities and strong global market competitiveness, calling it a crucial partner for Nanfang Media Group. This collaboration will leverage the unique core of the HarmonyOS system, its all-scenario distributed technology, and its capabilities in native intelligence and security. Information content will be accurately distributed across various devices, including mobile phones, tablets, and car systems.

Additionally, content delivery to readers will become more personalized, as both parties work together to create a more intelligent news ecosystem.

This includes leading applications in convenient living, travel and tourism, financial management, social information, productivity tools, audio-visual entertainment, and gaming. Several provinces and cities have also started developing HarmonyOS native applications for local governance, public services, and local media platforms.
