The 2024 Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (Zhongshan) Dragon Boat Invitational Tournament and Zhongshan Dragon Boat Culture Month will be held during May and June. From 8 June to 9 June, a warm-up exhibition race will take place in the waters of Qijiang River between Qijiang Bridge and Guangming Bridge. On the Dragon Boat Festival Day of 10 June, the Invitational Tournament is going to start in the waters of Qijiang River between Dongming Bridge and Kanghua Bridge (the city’s Dragon Boat Culture Park). 60 teams from 11 cities of the Greater Bay Area will come together to compete on the Qijiang River with the Traditional Dragon Boat Men's Division, International Standard 22-person Dragon Boat Men's Division, International Standard 22-person Dragon Boat Women's Division and other competitions.
Along with the Dragon Boat Tournament, a series of events with the element of the Year of Loong and the culture of the Dragon Boat, including lantern fairs, culture exhibitions, music festivals and food carnivals, will be held at the same time.
