2022 GBA Global Investment Promotion Conference to be held on Dec 5

Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao are scheduled to host the 2022 Global Investment Promotion Conference for the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area on December 5.

 

Being held simultaneously in Guangzhou, Hong Kong, and Macao, the conference will introduce the GBA's business environment, especially the edges of the industrial and supply chain of the area. Also, preferential policies and incentives will be presented to the global community, involving building Shenzhen into a pilot demonstration area of socialism with Chinese characteristics and major cooperation platforms, including Hengqin, Qianhai, and Nansha.

According to Zhang Jinsong, director-general of the Department of Commerce of Guangdong, the conference will be held online and offline, consisting of one theme conference, nine investment activities of the Pearl River Delta cities, and dozens of overseas conferences. The first overseas conference was held in Malaysia on November 2, and more will be unveiled in the US, Germany, Japan, and South Korea.

The conference will also include ceremonies for the second batch of global investment consultants and multinational headquarters and for the signing of major projects.

Zhang explained that now the province welcomes more investment in two fields. The first is in the manufacturing industry. In recent years the province has worked out ten strategic pillar industries and ten strategic emerging industries, including the next-generation information technology, automobiles, software and information services, semiconductor and integrated circuit. Among the 20 clusters, 7 boast a scale of over a trillion RMB.

Multinationals, those on the Fortune Global 500 list, are also very welcome to establish their regional headquarters of all kinds in Guangdong. And there will be an authorizing ceremony for the headquarters of multinational corporations.
