Multiple-ride, periodical tickets available for GZ-SZ-HK rail travelers

Effective today, the railway operator has introduced a new offering of multiple-ride tickets and periodical tickets for people traveling on Guangzhou-Shenzhen-Hong Kong Express Rail Link, also known as Guangshengang XRL.

Users of the multiple-ride tickets can enjoy 20 train rides within 90 days, fixed along the high-speed railway between any of the 10 stations in Guangdong and West Kowloon Station in Hong Kong. Meanwhile, periodical ticket holders have the flexibility of up to 60 train rides within 30 days, according to a release of Shenzhen North Railway Station yesterday.

The designated stations in Guangdong include Futian, Shenzhen North, Guangmingcheng, Humen, Qingsheng, Dongguan South, Changping, Dongguan, Guangzhou South, and Guangzhou East railway stations.

According to Guangzhou Railway Group Corp., the operator, the new ticket package offers discounts that make it a more economical choice compared to regular tickets. It caters to the needs of individuals frequently traveling between Hong Kong and Guangdong.

Travelers can purchase the tickets on the official China Railway ticket website, www.12306.cn. Multiple-ride ticket users can reserve up to four trains simultaneously, while periodical ticket holders can make reservations for up to 10 trains concurrently.

The system ensures ease of use by automatically deducting the number of rides taken after each journey. Additionally, riders have the flexibility to cancel reserved train rides prior to departure.

Guangshengang XRL resumed its services Jan. 15, 2023. Throughout the year 2023, it facilitated over 20 million passenger trips between the mainland and Hong Kong.

Specifically, the Shenzhen-Hong Kong section of the cross-border high-speed railway recorded 5.76 million outbound passenger trips, averaging 15,800 per day, and 5.40 million inbound passenger trips, averaging 14,800 per day, in 2023.
