Shenzhen's Qianhai and Bao'an attract intended investment of over 20 billion yuan in Hong Kong

On March 8th, the "Investing in the Bay Area, Cooperating for Mutual Win" economic and trade exchange event for 2024, organized by Qianhai Shenzhen-Hong Kong Modern Service Industry Cooperation Zone and Bao'an District of Shenzhen, took place at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre.

The "Investing in the Bay Area, Cooperating for Mutual Win" economic and trade exchange event for 2024 takes place at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre.

The event showcased Qianhai's development policies and Bao'an's high-quality production factors, and launched the "Qianhai Card 2024" for Shenzhen-Hong Kong communications. The event successfully facilitated the signing of 21 high-quality projects, with an intended investment of approximately 21.2 billion yuan.

Government and business representatives from both districts, alongside Hong Kong entrepreneurs gathered to explore opportunities in the Greater Bay Area and discussed cooperation strategies. Over 600 participants actively engaged in discussions about investing in Qianhai and Bao'an, with 21 projects signed covering commerce, logistics, and advanced manufacturing sectors, set to be located in Qianhai and Bao'an.

The collaboration between Qianhai and Bao'an has been strengthening, especially after the expansion of the Qianhai Shenzhen-Hong Kong Modern Service Industry Cooperation Zone, which now includes over 80 square kilometers of Bao'an. This expansion also positions Bao'an as a core area in Qianhai's reform and opening-up, marking it a key region for national strategies for the first time.

At the event, "Qianhai Card 2024" is launched for Shenzhen-Hong Kong communication.

During the event, Wang Shourui, the Deputy Mayor of Shenzhen and Party Secretary of Bao'an District, introduced the development advantages and resources of Qianhai and Bao'an to Hong Kong entrepreneurs. He described the areas as policy highlands, open hubs, investment hotspots, and livable homes, emphasizing their system alignment with Hong Kong and Macao, comprehensive urban functions, global market connections, complete production chains, rich innovation scenes, and pleasant environments. Wang invited Hong Kong entrepreneurs to invest, live and start businesses in Qianhai and Bao'an.

Tsang Kwok-wai, the Secretary for Constitutional and Mainland Affairs of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, stated that since the end of last year, there have been continuous major positive achievements in the development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and the Qianhai Shenzhen-Hong Kong Modern Service Industry Cooperation Zone. Hong Kong will continue to leverage its strengths and cooperate with Shenzhen to support the implementation of Qianhai's policies, rule innovation, and bring Shenzhen-Hong Kong cooperation to new heights and jointly promote the leading role of the Greater Bay Area.

The event highlighted key spatial planning for the Bao'an industry. In collaboration with the Chinese mainland's three major telecom operators, the "Qianhai Card 2024" was launched to help reduce communication costs for Hong Kong residents working and living in the Chinese mainland, offering convenient, efficient, and affordable communication services.
