At 11 a.m. on June 18, Meizhou's flood control headquarters adjusted the emergency response from Level I to Level II.

The provincial disaster reduction commission raised the emergency disaster relief response to Level III at 8 p.m. on June 17 due to heavy rainfall and flooding, especially in Meizhou.
As of 10 p.m. on June 17, the flood warning at Shiku River (Xinpu Town, Jiaoling County) was lifted as the water level recedes to 79.07 meters (below the warning level of 80.0 meters).
The local flood control headquarters in Meizhou initiated a Level I emergency response for heavy rain at 9 a.m. on June 17. China has a four-tier flood control emergency response system, with Level I being the most severe.

As of June 17, five people were killed, 15 are missing, and 13 others are trapped after landslides caused by torrential rains swept through Sishui Town, Renju Town, Dongshi Town of Pingyuan County, Nanca Town of Jiaoling County, and Songyuan Town of Meixian County.

Before a storm, you need to make the following preparations. Above all, you need to pay close attention to the weather forecasts and warning messages, and don't go out unless it is necessary.
No.1 Check the building
If the building is dilapidated or situated in low-lying areas, you need to move elsewhere immediately.
No.2 Suspend outdoor activities
Any unnecessary outdoor activities should be suspended. Schools may also suspend classes when necessary.
No.3 Check indoor facilities
Equipment such as circuits and stoves should remain insulated, and the main switch should be closed.
No. 4 Take back personal belongings
You need to bring the dry clothes and other items from outdoors inside in advance, and place valuable belongings in high locations if possible.
No.5 Go to high-lying areas to protect yourself
When the region is hit by torrential rain and flooding, you need to stop working in the fields immediately. Outdoor personnel should go to high-lying areas or caves to escape danger right away.
