Food Fair Street appears for the first time at the 135th Canton Fair

Food Fair Street made its first appearance at the 135th Canton Fair, which kicked off on April 15. The Food Fair is jointly held by the Guangdong Provincial Market Supervision and Administration Bureau and the China Foreign Trade Centre. It offers a wide range of food and beverages, providing exhibitors and visitors with diverse options. This addition contributes to the cultural appeal and business value of the Canton Fair.

A batch of catering groups and food enterprises actively participated in the Food Fair. Brands that are familiar to consumers appeared in clusters at the fair, including Tao Tao Ju, Guangzhou Restaurant, Lian Xiang Lou, Xin Bao Tang, etc.

Special zones for national products of geographical indication and China's time-honored brands are also set up at the Food Fair Street. Through promoting these products and brands, geographical indication culture performances, and traditional cultural exhibitions, guests are able to immerse themselves in experiencing and further understanding Guangdong's food and culture.

An official of the Guangdong Provincial Market Supervision Bureau said that the Canton Fair Food Fair Street will fully integrate the brand effect of the Canton Fair and the characteristics of Guangdong cuisine through special logos, music performances, intangible cultural heritage, and geographical indication product exhibitions.

The food fair also fully leverages the media and various platforms to form online and offline synergy in producing food maps, publicizing Guangdong cuisine, relevant products and food culture, further increasing the overall competitiveness and brand influence of the Guangdong food industry. As exhibitors and visitors view and select quality products at the Canton Fair, delicious foods also help to attract guests and boost consumption in Guangdong.

Benjamin, a member of the Executive Committee of the British Chamber of Commerce Guangdong, said, "I think one of the shortcomings of the previous sessions of the Canton Fair was that food and beverage choices were limited, and most people could only choose fast food. As China has many cuisines, the idea of setting up a food fair at the Canton Fair is very good."

In the future, guided by the Guangdong Provincial Market Supervision and Administration Bureau, enterprises will further enhance awareness of quality and branding and jointly form a sound social atmosphere for quality and brand development. The increased overall competitiveness and influence of quality Guangdong brands will support Guangdong in continuously being a forerunner in China's modernization.
