China Cybersecurity Week kicks off on Sunday under the theme of: "cybersecurity for and by the people." The week-long national campaign is in its 10th year after President Xi Jinping set the goal of building up China as a cyber power. Various activities are taking place in communities, university campuses, villages and enterprises across China to help raise awareness about cybersecurity. Some of the main events are taking place in South China's economic powerhouse – Guangdong Province.

HUANG KUNMING Secretary, Guangdong Provincial Party Committee "For Guangdong Province, cyber security is very close to our real lives. Nowadays, many of our substations, reservoirs and many other facilities are automatically operated. This requires a highly secure network. We are committed to putting people first and making the Internet more beneficial to the people."
