Guangdong litchi hits Singapore today for more export opportunities

On June 29, a Guangdong litchi-themed promotion event is to kick off at Scarlett Supermarket, the largest Chinese supermarket brand in Singapore.

Representatives from China Singapore Chamber of Commerce, leading litchi export enterprises from Guangdong, export bases and Singaporean supermarkets will participate in the event. Food internet celebrities are also invited to taste the flavors of Guangdong litchi, and some litchi-made products such as dried litchi and litchi wine. The attendees will work together to explore opportunities for Guangdong litchi to reach more Singaporean consumers.

In the meantime, related Guangdong litchi promotion events will also be held in countries such as Malaysia and Indonesia, allowing more foodies worldwide to enjoy the sweet and juicy Guangdong litchi.

According to the Guangdong Sub-administration of the General Administration of Customs of the People's Republic of China (GACC), the export of Guangdong litchi in 2022 has reached 170 million RMB, accounting for 59.4% of the country's litchi exports. Guangdong litchi has now been exported to more than 20 countries and regions.

"Guangdong litchi, a delight for all!", said Joyce Lee, Vice Chairman of China Singapore Chamber of Commerce Guangdong Branch, in a litchi planting base in Guangzhou's Conghua District. On June 25, she paid a visit to Guangzhou Conghua Hualong Fruit and Vegetable Company to enjoy fresh litchi and explore more opportunities to export Guangdong litchi to Singapore. She is looking forward to your participation in the event to taste fresh Guangdong litchi.

Ouyang Jianzhong, the chairman of Guangzhou Conghua Hualong Fruit and Vegetable Company and the president of Hualong Litchi Industrial Research Institute, calls for foodies worldwide to enjoy the sweet taste of Guangdong litchi in the promotion event.

Established in 1998, Guangzhou Conghua Hualong Fruit and Vegetable Company is a leading agricultural company in Guangdong, featuring litchi varieties including Jinggang Hongnuo, Nuomici, Guiwei and Lingfengnuo. Apart from domestic markets, these litchi are mainly exported to Canada, Japan and countries in Southeast Asia and Europe.

Lian Liansheng, mayor of Leiling Town, calls for foodies worldwide to enjoy the exquisite flavors of Guangdong litchi. Leiling, a town located in Guangdong's Shantou, has a history of litchi plantations dating back around 500 years. Grown in the fertile lands, the litchi trees in Leiling thrive in the subtropical climate, resulting in fruits that are exceptionally juicy and bursting with flavor. The litchi there have been exported to North America for 20 consecutive years.
