China-Europe Railway Express exports through Guangzhou International Port exceed 3.7 bn yuan in first four months|In Guangdong We Trust

In the first four months of this year, Guangzhou Railway Customs supervised the operation of 141 export trains from Guangzhou International Port. They transported 15,100 containers, marking a 15.94% increase year-on-year. The total value of goods reached 3.738 billion yuan, up by 7.85% compared to the same period last year.

On May 6th, with the sound of a whistle, the 75,004th China-Europe freight train, carrying 110 GAC Trumpchi vehicles, departed from Guangzhou International Port, heading to Europe via the Manzhouli Port. The journey is expected to take 15 days, marking the first export of GAC Trumpchi vehicles from Guangdong Province through this route. It enhanced the export channels for cars "Made in Guangdong".

"The transportation environment of the China-Europe freight train is stable, with a smooth route. Compared to sea freight, it offers advantages such as shorter transportation time and being environmentally friendly and safe," said Ye Xiaoliang, Director of the Comprehensive Management Department of Guangdong Guangwu International Logistics Investment Management Co.,Ltd. "This export train provides a new option for local high-quality automobile manufacturers to expand their presence in the markets of countries engaged in the Belt and Road Initiative, facilitating further international market penetration for domestic independent brands."

As of the end of April this year, Guangzhou Railway Customs supervised the operation of 68 "premium trains" for export, which account for approximately 48% of the total China-Europe freight train operations during the same period. This has benefited many well-known manufacturing brands in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, such as Midea, Changhong, Skyworth, Hisense, Wahin, and TCL, and the products cover various categories such as LCD TVs, air conditioners, and kitchen appliances.

Guangdong is a traditional manufacturing and foreign trade powerhouse. "Since the beginning of this year, the proportion of high-quality manufacturing products such as household appliances and electronic products from the Pearl River Delta Region transported by Guangzhou International Port's China-Europe freight trains has significantly increased," said Xie Wanlin, Head of the Supervision Department at Guangzhou Railway Customs. "Customs has accelerated the construction of smart customs and the implementation of the smart and strict customs inspection. By utilizing technological means to improve regulatory efficiency and implementing facilitation measures such as online customs clearance appointments, multimodal transport clearance, and 'rapid customs clearance' for railways, we are promoting the high-quality development of China-Europe freight trains."
