From May 20 to 21, 2025, the Africa Day 2025 & Guangdong (Qingyuan)-Africa Economic and Trade Cooperation and Exchange Event took place in Qingyuan.
This event is designed to foster friendly interactions between the people of Qingyuan and Africa and to unlock the potential for economic and trade cooperation between Guangdong and Africa.
Consuls general and representatives from the consulates of 11 African countries in Guangzhou—including Angola, Senegal, Uganda, and Zambia—visited key sites in Qingyuan, including Tian'an Smart City, Qingyuan Synectics Technology Co., Ltd., Mengpai Technology, Oppein Home Furnishings, the Qingyuan Maglev Project, the Guangzhou-Qingyuan Industrial Park, and the Management Committee of the Guangzhou-Qingyuan Textile and Garment Orderly Transfer Park.
Through firsthand experience, they explored Qingyuan's industrial strengths and discussed the advantages for economic and trade cooperation between Africa and Qingyuan.
In recent years, Qingyuan and Africa have built increasingly closer ties. Africa's abundant natural resources and vast market potential align well with Qingyuan's industrial capabilities and development needs.
Yao Chuxuan, one of Qingyuan's leaders, emphasized the city's commitment to adopting a more open approach and providing top-notch services to support African friends in investing, starting businesses, and collaborating in Qingyuan.
