On April 6th, the "Volunteer Training and Pledge Ceremony of the 135th Canton Fair" was held in Pazhou, Haizhu District, Guangzhou.
The 135th Canton Fair will be held on April 15th in Haizhu District of Guangzhou. The Committee ofthe Communist Youth League of China in Haizhu District has set100 volunteer positions and collaborated with 51 volunteer teams from universities in Guangzhou to carefully select 3,000 young volunteers to provide services such as translation, venue guidance, license consultation, traffic coordination, emergency medical assistance, and tourism promotion for domestic and foreign merchants.
At the volunteer training site for the Canton Fair, it was the young people born after the year 2000 who took on the responsibility of giving lectures and sharing experiences. Among them, Zheng Jiamin, born in 2001, served as a project manager of the Haizhu District Youth Volunteers Association. It was her second time to participate in the Canton Fair. In the preparation stage of the Canton Fair, Zheng Jiamin took on the role of a training instructor for the first time for 150 young volunteers, carrying out the Canton Fair volunteer service training.

To cope with the linguistic diversity of the merchants, the Haizhu District Youth Volunteer Association has established the "Exhibition Professional Foreign Language Volunteer Team in Haizhu District". It is reported that this team includes not only students majoring in English but also students majoring in French, Japanese, Spanish, German, and other foreign languages. Among them, 80 volunteers are Hong Kong SAR, Macao SAR and Chinese Taiwan students as well as international students.
"This is my second time serving as a Canton Fair volunteer. Though I worked alone last time, I have more companions this time. I will provide volunteer service alongside 40 international students from my school at the Canton Fair." said Tolonbubu from Kyrgyzstan, a second-year graduate student majoring in tourism management at South China University of Technology. At the 133rd Canton Fair, she participated in the volunteer service for the first time.
As an international student, Tolonbubu speaks four languages: Kyrgyz, Russian, English, and Chinese. She said, "In the Canton Fair volunteer service, I can communicate with merchants from different countries and regions. By providing language services, I can help merchants participate in the Canton Fair smoothly and introduce Guangzhou's tourist attractions and cuisine to them."
It is reported that at the 135th Canton Fair, the Committee of the Communist Youth League of China in Haizhu District united with 20 universities including Sun Yat-sen University, South China University of Technology, Jinan University, and Guangdong University of Finance and Economics to form 51 university volunteer teams, leveraging the strength of university volunteer teams to expand the scope of volunteers at the Canton Fair. Among the university volunteer teams at the 135th Canton Fair, 90% of them are undergraduate and above degree university teams, and 60% of them are professional foreign language college teams.
