135th Canton Fair guests visit Gunagzhou's Yuexiu District

Over 60 overseas buyers attended the 135th session of the China Import and Export Fair (Canton Fair) and visited the Yuexiu District in Guangzhou on the afternoon of April 17.

During the tour, the foreign visitors first visited the Guangzhou Museum, where they were enchanted by imported and exported relics that showcased the history of Guangzhou's foreign trade.

In the second stop, the foreign buyers went to the Canton Orchid Garden to experience the "Ten Elegances," including gardening (莳花), burning incense (焚香), tasting tea (品茗), listening to the rain (听雨), playing the guqin (抚琴), playing chess (对弈), drinking (酌酒), reading (读书), waiting for the moon (候月), and searching for seclusion (寻幽). They also learned how to make pith painting, Canton embroidery, and cucoloris from local inheritors of intangible cultural heritages.

After that, the guests enjoyed Cantonese dim sum at a traditional restaurant called Dian Dou De, which also served chrysanthemum cakes in addition to classic dishes. For the last stop, the merchants embarked on the iconic Pearl River Night Cruise and witnessed the city's landmarks unfold before their eyes.

A representative from the Brazil-China Chamber of Commerce pointed out that this year marks the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Brazil and China. China has been Brazil's most important trading partner since 2009, and the tour to understand Guangzhou's millennial commerce culture enhanced their confidence in seeking business opportunities in the city.

Business representatives and journalists from Australia said that the tour was an exceptional experience where they felt the charm of traditional Chinese culture. They also mentioned that they would definitely share their experiences with their family and friends back home and invite them to visit Guangzhou.
