Pol Arquimbau, the project manager of the Catalonia Trade & Investment, visited the Canton Fair for the first time. "Everyone is very enthusiastic, and I have received positive feedback." He said that if the time allows, he will definitely come again for the fair in autumn this year.
Being a first-timer of this event though, Pol is well-prepared - he searched the exhibitors' information on the official website of the Canton Fair, studied their location and business scope one by one, and finally narrowed down 13 companies to visit.
“Myplan is to talk to these companies to see if they have any plans to settel down in Europe.We havethis strong ecosystem in Barcelonawhere we offer a very specific location in the southern region. And there are a lot of benefit that Chinese companies could atucally take from.”shared Pol. He also added “And fields that relate with our main investment interest includes: Mobility, ICT, Electronics and Manufacturing.”
Departing from Hong Kong in the morning and taking the earliest high-speed train to Guangzhou, he rushed right to the Canton Fair Complex. "My role is to attract investment from South China to Catalonia, Spain. I know that the Canton Fair is one of the largest and most important trade fairs in the world, and I can get a wide range of contacts here. I have seen many different types of companies, and I hope to meet new companies and establish cooperative relations with them.”
Pol said that there are many trade exchanges between China and Catalonia. There are currently more than 200 companies from Catalonia in China. Meanwhile more than 100 Chinese companies are located in Catalonia. After China adjusted its visa and entry policies, strong interest in coming to Guangdong has grown among Catalan companies.
Pol Arquimbau pointed out that face-to-face communication is very important and efficient. I have communicated with representatives of 5 companies in one day, and everyone is very interested in entering the European market. "I exchanged contact information with them, and I look forward to further cooperation and attracting outstanding Chinese companies to invest in Spain."
Next, he will talk to other companies on his list one by one. "The Canton Fair is like a turning point for us. It will be a new beginning. I hope it will bring us more opportunities for development and success." He said.
