A high-speed railway linking Meizhou City and Longchuan County in eastern Guangdong Province is set to begin operation on Sept. 14. As part of the high-speed railway between Longyan City of Fujian Province and Longchuan in Guangdong, the Meizhou-Longchuan line serves as a vital channel linking the Yangtze River Delta with the Pearl River Delta regions.

The nearly 94-kilometer line is designed for a running speed of 350 km per hour, helping cut the travel time from Meizhou to cities in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, including Guangzhou and Shenzhen to around two hours.
