Imports and exports of Guangdong comprehensive bonded zones increases by 7.8% in Q1 2024

In the first quarter of this year, the import and export value of Guangdong's comprehensive bonded zones reached 170.988 billion RMB, marking a year-on-year increase of 7.8 percent. This accounted for 8.4 percent of the total import and export value of the province during this period, as reported by the Guangdong Sub-Administration of the GACC. Currently, Guangdong is home to 13 comprehensive bonded zones.

Data from the Guangdong Sub-Administration of the GACC shows that from January to March this year, nearly 1,000 domestically-made vehicles were exported through the Guangzhou Huangpu Comprehensive Bonded Zone, more than 6 times of that in last year. Since Huangpu Comprehensive Bonded Zone implemented the province's first bonded storage project for imported automobiles in March 2021, it has witnessed 24,000 imported and exported automobiles in the past three years, with a total value of 12.956 billion RMB.

Meanwhile, Dongguan Humen Port Comprehensive Bonded Zone has established a distribution center for electronic components in South China. This center aims to enhance the electronic industrial chain and supply chain services for enterprises located in the zone. It also aims to expand services for producers, including bonded R&D, bonded maintenance, and international service outsourcing. In the first quarter of this year, the import and export value of the distribution center reached 22.936 billion RMB.

Moreover, the bonded logistics business has also grown steadily in the Guangdong comprehensive bonded zones, serving as an important driver in promoting the growth of the province's foreign trade. In the first quarter of this year, the import and export value of the bonded logistics business in the Guangdong comprehensive bonded zones reached 139.425 billion RMB, which is an increase of 16.8 percent year-on-year. The rapid development of the bonded logistics business helps enhance the competitiveness of Guangdong in foreign trade and provides enterprises with an efficient and convenient international trade platform.
