China Southern Airlines Guangzhou launches a red alert for large-scale flight delays

Affected by thunderstorm weather in South China, Central China, Southwest China and East China, there was a serious backlog of flights from Guangzhou, Shenzhen and Zhuhai to East China, Central China, Southwest China and Central South China on April 20.

China Southern Airlines Guangzhou launched a red alert for large-scale flight delays on April 20 (09:00-23:59). China Southern Airlines Shenzhen launched a yellow alert for large-scale flight delays on April 20 (07:00-23:59).

Passengers are advised to pay more attention to flight changes and SMS notifications. Passengers can log on to the official website, application, WeChat official account, WeChat mini program of China Southern Airlines, or call the customer service hotline 95539 to inquire about flight information.

In case of flight delays or cancellations, passengers can also refund or reschedule tickets through the above channels. When the customer service hotline is busy, it is recommended to give priority to online channels for ticket refund.

In addition, Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport announced that as of 12:48, there were 105 passenger flights delayed for more than an hour still pending departure. The airport escalated its emergency response level to orange due to widespread flight delays and advised all travelers to check flight statuses in advance, pay close attention to weather changes and stay updated on any flight modifications.
