The National Meteorological Center issued a yellow alert for heavy rain at 6 am on June 1. As of 06:52, a total of 28 rainstorm warning signals were issued in Guangdong, including the Zhanjiang Xuwen red warning signal for rainstorms, orange warning signals for rainstorms in Leizhou, Yangchun and Taishan, and yellow thunderstorm gale warning signals for Xuwen, Leizhou, Zhanjiang and Wuchuan.
The Guangdong Meteorological Center predicted that due to the influence of the typhoon in Guangdong Province, heavy rain is expected from the morning of June 1 to 2 in cities along the west coast of Guangdong, the Pearl River Delta region, eastern Guangdong as well as Heyuan and Meizhou. The rest of the region will experience cloudy weather with intermittent heavy rainfall.
From June 2 to 3 during daytime hours, precipitation will decrease with central and southern cities experiencing overcast skies with moderate to locally heavy or torrential rainfall, while other areas will have cloudy conditions with showers.
Residents need to guard against heavy rainfall and its secondary disasters such as urban and rural waterlogging, mountain torrents, mud-rock flows, landslides and floods in the middle and small river basins. Passing ships, maritime operations, islands and coastal tourism in Guangdong Province need to pay attention to safety.
