Maoming launches 2025 Lychee Marketing Campaign

On May 16, the Maonan District of Maoming City, Guangdong Province, launched the 2025 Lychee Marketing Campaign.

At the Luduan Ancient Lychee Garden (禄段古荔园), activities including "Ancient Lychee + Chinese Trend" creative exhibitions, lychee-themed markets, and industrial chain events showcased the vitality of industrial upgrades and rural revitalization in China's major lychee-producing areas.

Maoming, the world's largest premium lychee production zone, has a lychee planting area of over 1.4 million mu (93,333 hectares),  producing a quarter of China's lychees and a fifth of the global supply.

The Luduan Ancient Lychee Garden, home to the largest concentration of ancient lychee trees in China, features 468 trees, with the oldest dating back 1,938 years, earning it the title of a "living lychee museum."

So far, Maonan District has customized 1,830 lychee trees, fulfilling 6,038 orders from individuals, groups, and enterprises. E-commerce sales have reached 12,300 orders, with 363 business negotiations and 3,930 tons of customization agreements signed.

At the event, Maonan unveiled its lychee-themed cultural tourism routes. The leisure route begins at the Luduan Ancient Lychee Garden, passes through the Open-pit Mine Ecological Park (Haoxin Lake), Maoming Forest Park, and ends at Linghui Temple. The historical route covers Baitu Village and Youchengxu, providing tourists with unique cultural experiences.

The campaign also introduced the "Thousand-year Lychee Heritage" (千年荔脉) IP family, featuring characters like "Lychee Farmer (荔小农)," and "Lychee Fairy (荔小仙)," blending cultural imagery with modern aesthetics in packaging and creative designs that emphasize historical heritage.
