Finland entrepreneurs seek cooperation in green energy in GZ's Huangpu

A delegation from Finland attended the China (Guangzhou)–Finland Green Energy Sustainable Development Industry and Industrial Digitalization Matching Conference, which was held in the Huangpu District of Guangzhou on April 15.

The delegation aimed to explore potential cooperation with local enterprises in the fields of sustainable development and industrial digitalization.

More than 30 leading Finnish companies in the energy and intelligent manufacturing fields, including Nokia and Konecranes, had business negotiations with over 20 Chinese companies, including Sinosynergy and SinoHyKey, in order to seek joint development.

Mika Klemettinen, Trade and Innovation Consul of Finland in Shanghai, introduced that Finland has a large number of advanced industrial technologies, industrial experience, and leading enterprises in the fields of smart energy and clean energy. Finland is the only European country that has signed an inter-country energy demonstration project cooperation agreement with China. He hopes to find opportunities for cooperation here, as Huangpu District has a solid foundation in green industries.

In recent years, Huangpu District has attached great importance to the development of the green energy industry, which has become one of the most important industries in the region. In 2023 alone, the green energy industry achieved a total industrial output value of 179.3 billion yuan, accounting for 20% of the total industrial output value of the entire region, according to Wei Bo, Deputy Director of the Development and Reform Bureau of Huangpu District.
