Xuwen county in Guangdong province plans to expand its innovative cooperation with Finland in sports and cultural tourism.

Luo Hongxia, Party chief of Xuwen, said her county government is introducing the Sino-Finland Friendly Cooperation Project of Happy Sports to build a dynamic urban landscape of "sports + cultural tourism, sports + technology and sports + life" with Finnish sports, cultural tourism and other industry alliances.

Luo made her remarks at the China (Xuwen, Guangdong) Finland Sports Culture Tourism Innovation Cooperation Conference in Beijing on Monday.

"As a southern gateway county for Guangdong to connect and serve the Hainan Free Trade Port, Xuwen, which has unique geographical advantages and abundant cultural and tourism resources, has broad prospects for Sino-foreign cooperation," she said.

"The cooperation will not only help enhance Xuwen's international reputation, but also set a new example for cooperation between China and Finland in sports, culture and tourism," said Luo.

The success of the cooperation between China and Finland in the 2019 Winter Sports Year has opened a new door for exchanges and cooperation in sports between the two countries.
