On May 10, the Large-Scale Equipment Upgrade and Industrial Chain Matchmaking Conference (Electronic Information Session) was held in Dongguan. The conference, organized by the Dongguan Municipal Bureau of Industry and Information Technology and the Dongguan Branch of China Construction Bank Limited, saw the participation of over 200 local enterprises from the electronic information sector.
Dongguan, renowned as a manufacturing and equipment powerhouse, has demonstrated remarkable strengths and a vibrant supply and demand landscape.
In response to the growing demand, Dongguan has long been committed to supporting companies in expanding their equipment investments. The city has consistently topped the provincial charts in terms of funding allocations for industrial equipment upgrades and technological advancements. In 2023, Dongguan took the lead in implementing a new round of "major technological improvements" policy in Guangdong province. The city secured a staggering 676 million yuan in provincial-level funds for technological improvements, supporting over 1,000 technology transformation projects and driving nearly 5 billion yuan in equipment investments by local businesses. These initiatives have propelled the city's industrial equipment upgrade investments to achieve steady growth, with the first quarter of this year witnessing a remarkable 31.3 percent increase, surpassing the provincial average by 9.3 percentage points.
On the supply side, Dongguan's robust equipment manufacturing industry stands as the second-largest pillar industry outside the realm of electronic information, generating a substantial revenue of 500 billion yuan. As part of the Friday matchmaking activities, Dongguan unveiled its initial list of key equipment enterprises and featured products. This comprehensive list aims to provide relevant products and services to companies with equipment upgrade requirements.
The event serves as a platform for government agencies and banks to collaborate, facilitating the seamless connection between equipment manufacturing companies and those seeking equipment upgrades. By fostering direct communication channels, the conference not only aims to meet the demands of companies seeking technological advancements but also serves as a catalyst to ignite technological innovation within the equipment manufacturing industry. This concerted effort will effectively drive economic transformation and upgrading through the adoption of cutting-edge technologies.

The list encompasses over 100 key equipment enterprises and almost 200 featured products, spanning a wide range of industry sectors. It includes traditional sectors such as printing, packaging, and plastics, as well as emerging sectors like electronic information, semiconductors, and intelligent robotics. The list covers fundamental product categories like industrial host machines, while also highlighting crucial products that drive the development of new high-quality production forces, such as new energy. It extends its reach to encompass heavy equipment fields like ships and rail transportation, as well as light industry products like 3D printing and flexible manufacturing.
