From October 4th to 5th, the 2024 Strawberry Music Festival lit up Humen Park in Dongguan with electrifying performances, drawing nearly 50,000 music lovers. Over the two days, 24 diverse singer-songwriters and bands took turns captivating the audience with an immersive visual and acoustic feast.
Beyond the main stage, the festival featured various interactive zones, including a trendy marketplace, gourmet food area, and creative handicraft displays, allowing attendees to experience Dongguan's rich cultural diversity while enjoying the music.
Mr. Liang, a visitor from Foshan, shared his impressions: "It's my first time in Humen, Dongguan, and the city's transportation is incredibly convenient." Besides the music festival, he also visited the Opium War Museum. As the birthplace of modern Chinese history, Dongguan hosted a patriotism-themed event during the National Day holiday. Mr. Liang was deeply moved: "Seeing these historical scenes in person is far more powerful than anything I've read. This has truly been a 'music plus history' journey."
Miss Liu, who traveled from Hunan Province specifically for the festival, said, "We enjoyed so many local delicacies, especially Dongguan roast goose, which was delicious! We received discounts on rides and shopping, and there were so many fun things to do. After the festival, we're planning to stay a few more days to explore."
The festival also marked a special collaboration between Dongguan roast goose and a trendy local brand. At the event, the Dongguan brand Snowblack unveiled its limited-edition roast goose toy, "Guan Xiao'e". The adorable giant Guan Xiao'e and cute roast goose-themed souvenirs became popular photo spots, further boosting the rising fame of Dongguan's roast goose.
Under the blazing sun, attendees were fully equipped with sunscreen gear. Many fanned themselves with playful "roast goose baby" fans or relaxed on "Guan Xiao'e" pillows, enjoying the cool comfort. Miss Huang, a student from Shenzhen, remarked, "Guan Xiao'e is so cute! The second meal I had in Dongguan was a roast goose, and I loved it."
Capitalizing on the festival, Dongguan embraced the National Day holiday by organizing nearly 500 cultural and tourism events themed around "A Youthful and Fashionable Music Journey". The city launched six travel routes, hotel promotions, and free holiday shuttle buses, transforming festival traffic into long-term tourism. Initial estimates suggest the festival boosted local consumption across hotels, dining, shopping, tourism, transportation, and cultural products, generating approximately 160 million yuan.
