The opera portrays the journey of MarcoPolo, his father, and his uncle as they travel from their hometown of Venice, Italy, back and forth to China along the SilkRoad and MaritimeSilkRoad. From the perspective of this Italian explorer, the opera explores the frequent exchanges and prosperous trade between East and West at that time.
This year marks the 700th anniversary of Marco Polo's passing. After its premiere in 2018, the opera "Marco Polo" returns to the Guangzhou Opera House. What new surprises will the cast bring to the stage this time?
