Data from the Department of Cultural and Tourism of Guangdong Province reveals that on the fifth day of the 2024 National Day holiday (October 5th, 2024), the province's 4A-level and above scenic spots welcomed 2.478 million visitors, a year-on-year increase of 14.7% on a comparable basis.
On the fifth day of the holiday, Guangdong continued to celebrate with a variety of cultural and tourism activities centered around local characteristics.
The National Day series of cultural activities to benefit the public of the Guangdong Yueju Opera Theater were held in Wuchuan City and Huazhou City to meet the cultural needs of Cantonese opera enthusiasts during the holiday. In Shenzhen, colorful festival activities such as the "City in the Sky" drone performance, the National Day Harvest Festival at Guangming Farm Grand View Garden, the Shenzhen Percussion Culture Festival, and the 2024 Splendid China Chinese Cultural Fun Festival demonstrated the vitality of the special economic zone.
Xiqiao Mountain Scenic Area in Foshan offered free admission during the National Day holiday, leading to a significant rise in visitors. The fireworks display by Tingyin Lake added a sparkling touch to the scenic area. The "Burning Man Festival" in Guangdong Romance Park continued to draw crowds with its fiery celebration.
Dongguan City served up a rich cultural, tourism, and sports feast with the large-scale Dongguan Strawberry Music Festival from October 4th to 5th at Humen Park. Renowned musicians and bands took turns performing, providing an immersive audio-visual experience for the audience.
Coastal attractions in Yangjiang City, including Dajiao Bay on Hailing Island, Pearl Bay in Yangdong, and Moon Gulf in Yangxi, saw a surge in popularity. The Dongping Pearl Bay Beach Music Festival Carnival and the Snow White Adventure Theater at Dajiao Bay on Hailing Island, along with spectacular fireworks displays, provided visitors with a visual feast.
Yushui Ancient Royal Hot Spring Scenic Area in Maoming City hosted traditional performances and "Fun Garden Tour, Trendy National Day" activities to draw visitors. The Romantic Coast Tourist Resort also attracted crowds with its Sand Sculpture Light Art Festival and Hawaiian-themed events.
Jieyang City hosted the "Taste of Jieyang" — the 2024 National Day series of cultural and tourism activities in Rongcheng District, featuring three themes: "Tasting Delights," "Exploring Markets," and "Dancing Lions," all of which showcased the area's unique charm.
