Serving as the Asia headquarters for the DNEG 360 brand, the project involves an investment of over 500 million RMB. It will develop a 90,000 square meter virtual production base, including five state-of-the-art sound stages, comprehensive office spaces, exhibition halls, and hospitality amenities. Notably, the sound stage area alone will span 15,000 square meters, providing significant production capacity for international film and television projects.

The DNEG 360 x Dimension Virtual Production Film Base is expected to attract a vibrant ecosystem of upstream and downstream film and tech companies, creating a new hub for digital creativity in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

The project aims to blend film production with cultural tourism, welcoming over 500,000 visitors and production crew members annually. Visitors will have the opportunity to experience the magic of movie-making, positioning Dongguan as a new destination for film enthusiasts and travelers.

A highlight of the project is the upcoming sci-fi film HUMANOID, co-produced by DNEG 360 and the Cambridge Picture Company. Stephen Duncan Jelley, Co-founder and Managing Director of DNEG 360, as well as Founder and Managing Director of Dimension Studios, confirmed that scenes from their upcoming sequel, HUMANOID 2, will be shot at the Dongguan base in late 2026. This will mark the first international film produced on-site.

This partnership is more than a high-profile investment; it reflects the growing international confidence in Dongguan and Guangdong's innovation capabilities. With Guangdong's GDP surpassing 14 trillion yuan, the region is evolving into a global hub for manufacturing, culture, creativity, and high-tech innovation.
