Dongguan Weather
As National Day approaches, it looks like both a typhoon and cold air want to join the festivities in Dongguan. Meteorological reports predict that temperatures will drop into the "teens" during the holiday.
Typhoon attention 🌀
On September 28, a tropical depression east of the Taiwan Strait intensified into No. 18 Typhoon "Kraton". While it's not expected to impact Guangdong directly, wind speeds in the Bashi Channel and Taiwan Strait will increase significantly, affecting the waters off eastern Guangdong and the northeastern South China Sea.
A sudden autumn chill
From September 28 to October 1, a strong cold front will sweep across much of the country, bringing unprecedented low temperatures. The northern regions will feel the chill around September 29, while southern areas, including Dongguan, will notice the drop between September 30 and October 1.
This cold air mass is expected to reach northern Guangdong by October 1 and the coastal areas by October 2, with some regions experiencing temperature drops exceeding 8°C.
Weather forecast for Dongguan:
September 29-30: Mainly cloudy with possible short-lived showers;
October 1-3: A strong cold front will move in, causing temperatures to drop by 4-6°C. Skies will transition from cloudy to clear, with increased north winds;
October 4-5: Cloudy to sunny, with minimum temperatures around 19°C;
October 6-7: Mainly sunny with some clouds.
