Acoustic-Tweezers for single cell printing, R&D for spent Lithium-ion batteries, and high-quality seaweed products are a few of the many extraordinary innovative projects that have been recognized as finalists in the seventh China (Shenzhen) Innovation & Entrepreneurship International Competition ("IEIC").
Three industry finals of the 7th IEIC were held in Bao'an, Shenzhen.
IEIC is the largest international innovation and entrepreneurship competition in China, attracting startups and innovation talents from all over the world. This year's competition, which has attracted a total of 3,265 entries from around the world, entails 14 overseas sub-competitions in 13 countries and regions and features seven industry finals.

As a major district of manufacturing and innovation in Shenzhen, Bao'an held three industry finals of this year's competition, including high-end equipment manufacturing, green and low-carbon economy, and marine economy industry finals, from April 15 to 16.
After two days of competitions, the project "Obinl Biotech" from Germany won the first prize in the high-end equipment manufacturing industry finals, the project "BOTREE Cycle" from the UK won the first prize in the low-carbon economy industry finals, and the project "Nordic Seafarm" from Sweden won the first prize in the marine economy industry finals.
The top three teams from each industry finals will be qualified for the grand finals to compete with winning projects from all seven industry finals. The grand finals of IEIC will be held in Shenzhen on April 18.
Since its initiation in 2016, IEIC has attracted nearly 10,000 projects. The competition aims to integrate innovation and entrepreneurship resources, assist overseas innovation and entrepreneurship projects to obtain Chinese high-tech industrial resources, open up the Chinese market, and achieve mutual benefits and win-win results.
Without nationality restrictions, all overseas innovative and entrepreneurial projects can participate in this competition. The total bonus for IEIC reaches 9.71 million yuan including individual bonuses up to 750,000 yuan. A venture capital pool of 25 billion yuan has been set up by more than 50 investment institutions to support outstanding projects.
Contestants visited local industry parks and companies in Bao'an before the industry final.
