The 136th Canton Fair will be held in Guangzhou from October 15th to November 4th, split into three phases. The first phase is scheduled for October 15th-19th. Popular business areas include Guangzhou South Railway Station, Jiangnanxi, Beijing Road Pedestrian Street, Pazhou Exhibition Center, and Shamian Island.
According to Tongcheng Travel, hotel booking demand in Guangzhou's Haizhu District has risen by 72% compared to the previous period during the Canton Fair. At the White Swan Hotel, all 520 rooms are estimated to be fully booked on certain dates of the first and second phases, with most guests coming from countries along the "Belt and Road" Initiative. The Guangdong Hotel reported that, as of October 12th, the booking rate during this year's Canton Fair has reached 80%.
To better serve guests, many hotels in Guangzhou are offering convenient services. For instance, the Guangzhou Baiyun International Convention Center provides express services for registration, allowing guests to complete necessary formalities in advance and reducing waiting time at the venue. In addition, the White Swan Hotel will feature a drone light show, host events about intangible cultural heritage, and offer exclusive boat services for the Canton Fair.
In addition to skyrocketing hotel bookings, flight bookings to Guangzhou have surged. Data from Qunar.com shows that as of October 3rd, Bookings for flights to Guangzhou between October 15th and 19th have increased fourfold from the previous week. Flight bookings for Guangzhou during the Canton Fair have increased by 19% compared to 2023.
As for international flights, the majority of visitors during the Canton Fair are expected to come from Thailand, Malaysia, the Republic of Korea, Singapore, and Australia.
