New train schedule enhances connectivity between Guangdong and Hunan

A new train schedule will come into effect from midnight of June 15, reducing travel time between Guangzhou and Changsha to less than 2 hours by high speed trains.

With the new schedule, 94 high-speed trains running at 350 kilometers per hour will operate on the Wuhan-Guangzhou route, with the fastest journey between Changsha South Railway Station and Guangzhou South Railway Station reduced to 1 hour and 59 minutes. The speed-up is expected to greatly improve transportation capacity between the central region and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA).

In addition, there are 6 direct trains from Guangzhou South Railway Station to Changsha South Railway Station, with travel time several minutes more than 2 hours.

It also takes 1 hour and 59 minutes to travel from Changsha South Railway Station to Guangzhou South Railway Station or Guangzhou Baiyun Railway Station directly via trains G6011, G6089, and G6141, which will meet passengers' travel needs in the morning, afternoon, and evening.

Prof. Zeng Xing from Hunan University of Science and Technology remarked, "The two-hour transportation circle will make it more convenient and frequent for people of the two places to visit friends and relatives." After June 15, major cities in the GBA, such as Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Hong Kong, and Zhuhai, will be reachable from Changsha in 1 hour and 59 minutes, 2 hours and 37 minutes, 2 hours and 56 minutes, and 3 hours and 24 minutes respectively. He commented, Hunan's integration into the GBA and the "three-hour traffic circle" are accelerating.
