On March 17th, the newly constructed high-speed railway officially entered the track-laying phase along its entire route.

Meizhou-Longchuan High-Speed Railway connects Meizhou and Heyuan in Guangdong Province. The newly constructed line spans 93.986 kilometers with a designed speed of 350 kilometers per hour. Starting from Meizhou West Railway Station on the Meizhou-Shantou High-Speed Railway, it passes through Meixian District, Xingning City, Wuhua County in Meizhou, and Longchuan County in Heyuan, and terminates at Longchuan West Railway Station on the Ganzhou-Shenzhen High-Speed Railway. The line passes four stations, including the newly constructed Xingning South Railway Station and Wuhua Railway Station. Concurrently, connection lines are being constructed in Longchuan to connect Heyuan to the Ganzhou-Shenzhen High-Speed Railway in both directions.

After the project is completed, the travel time between Meizhou and cities in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, such as Guangzhou and Shenzhen, will be shortened to within 1.5 hours. This will greatly improve transportation capacity and efficiency. It will also accelerate the construction of high-speed rail corridors that connect the Pearl River Delta, eastern Guangdong, Meizhou, and Heyuan, expediting transportation in Guangdong Province and playing a crucial role in driving regional economic development.
