Have you visited these China's First Grade National Museums in Guangzhou?

Recently, the Chinese Museums Association released the "Announcement on the Evaluation Results of the Fifth Batch of First Grade National Museums", where three museums in Guangzhou—the Memorial Museum of Generalissimo Sun Yat-sen's Mansion, the Guangdong Museum of Revolutionary History, and the Memorial Museum of 1911 Revolution—are included.

Guangzhou boasts a total of nine first-grade national museums currently, namely the Guangdong Museum, the Nanyue King Museum, the Museum of Dr. Sun Yat-sen, the Guangzhou Museum, the Guangdong Folk Arts Museum, the Guangzhou Museum of Art, the Memorial Museum of Generalissimo Sun Yat-sen's Mansion, Guangdong Museum of Revolutionary History, and the Memorial Museum of the 1911 Revolution.

The Memorial Museum of Generalissimo Sun Yat-sen's Mansion

The Memorial Museum of Generalissimo Sun Yat-sen's Mansion is located at No. 18 Dongsha Street, Haizhu District, Guangzhou. It was constructed on the original site where Sun Yat-sen established his revolutionary power in both 1917 and 1923. The museum was founded in 1997 and features 6 to 10 thematic exhibitions.

Guangdong Museum of Revolutionary History

Established in 1959, the Guangdong Museum of Revolutionary History is now the earliest thematic museum on revolutionary history in Guangdong Province. It currently administers more than ten revolutionary sites, ancient buildings, and modern historical and cultural relics. These include the former site of the Whampoa Military Academy, the former site of the All-China Federation of Trade Unions, the former site of the Guangzhou Commune, the former site of the Vietnam Youth Revolutionary Association, as well as the former site of the Guangdong Provincial Council, the Customs Registration Office of the Huangpu Branch of the Guangzhou Customs, the Foreigners' Cemetery, the Dapodi Fort, the Baihegang Fort, and other historical and cultural relics reflecting the modern history of Guangzhou.

The Memorial Museum of 1911 Revolution

Guangzhou is the birthplace and main battleground of the 1911 Revolution, where the pioneer Sun Yat-sen carried out his revolutionary activities. The Memorial Museum of the 1911 Revolution, located in the central part of Changzhou Island, Huangpu District, Guangzhou, was established in October 2011 as a thematic museum to commemorate the centenary of the 1911 Revolution.
