Pregnant women get timely treatments

The Shenzhen Municipal Health Commission was praised by netizens for their response to help a pregnant woman after her husband left a request on their official WeChat account.

At around 10:57 a.m. Saturday, a netizen named Prnliy posted a message on the health authority’s WeChat account, saying that an expectant mother had a nucleic acid test at Long-hua People’s Hospital, but 12 hours had passed and inquired when the results would be available for the woman.

Six minutes after the post, the health commission responded, “Give me your phone number.” Soon, the information was sent to Longhua Central Hospital and they contacted Prnliy and confirmed the nucleic acid test sample was taken by a temporary collection site instead of the hospital and was sent to a third-party agency for testing. The hospital immediately contacted the third-party agency.

The report was updated at 12:28 p.m. and Prnliy, who was later identified as a person surnamed He, confirmed at 1:04 p.m. to have received the result.

According to He, he left the message after his wife had taken her nucleic acid test 14 hours before. He was anxious because they need the test result to undergo medical treatment at the hospital.

“In an hour after the post, my wife had been taken to the hospital for treatment,” He said.

In another development, a pregnant woman living in Liantang, Luohu District, whose health code had turned red due to the COVID-19 control in the area, received timely treatment at a Luohu hospital, DT News reported yesterday.

On Saturday, the 29-year-old woman was two days overdue her delivery date and the family were anxious to schedule a medical check for her. The woman’s nucleic acid was negative, and the community clinic reported to a doctor surnamed Wang of the Luohu People’s Hospital, who suggested the woman to get checked. Liantang community arranged an ambulance, and the hospital required its emergency department to open a special passage to ensure the pregnant woman’s transfer and safety.

At 4 p.m., the pregnant woman was sent to the Luohu People’s Hospital and arranged an isolated ward for treatment. In 10 minutes, doctors of the maternity department arrived at the ward and ensured the woman and the baby she is carrying were both in good condition. The woman was taken back to the community in Liantang.

Meanwhile, a 37-year-old woman surnamed Mei from Huizhou, who was in an emergency, delivered a baby Saturday afternoon at Luohu People’s Hospital. The woman was rushed to the hospital at noon Saturday and was admitted under the special passage though she had no recent nucleic acid test reports.
