On January 31, at Xiangjin Flowers & Trees Farm in Henglan Town, workers loaded potted citrus trees, orchids, azaleas and others onto trucks. These Spring Festival flowers were ready to be delivered to Macao.
As the largest seedling and flower export base in Zhongshan, the Henglan Sansha Flowers & Trees Specialized Production Cooperative has a planting area of over 10,000 mu, with a wide variety of flowers and trees.
"This year, Zhongshan has tapped into the flower seedling market in Hong Kong. Compared with Macao, the transportation distance and time are longer," said an official of Zhongshan Customs, adding that Zhongshan Customs has set up green channels for customs inspection and clearance, saving nearly 50% of time costs for enterprises.
In January this year, Zhongshan supplied 178 batches of Spring Festival flowers to Macao, an increase of 27% compared to the same period last year, and 328 batches to Hong Kong.
