Leading the squad is He Dongqing from Guangzhou Sports University, the captain of this year’s Guangzhou Marathon Beauties. Having previously served as a basketball beauty and participated in the 2019 Guangzhou Marathon Beauties competition, He Dongqing is no stranger to the marathon festivities.
Amidst the flourishing sports scene in Guangzhou this year, He Dongqing, an avid sports enthusiast, has been actively involved in promoting various sports activities and participating in diverse physical activities. The Guangzhou Marathon, being a major event in the city, naturally brings excitement and thrill for her to be a part of.
Excited about the Guangzhou Marathon, she sees the Marathon Beauties as ambassadors of Guangzhou's warmth and vitality, believing that their performances along the track can ignite enthusiasm among spectators and provide encouragement to the athletes.
In contrast to He Dongqing, who has been in Guangzhou for years, Wang Jiaying recently arrived in the city as a graduate student at Guangzhou Sports University. She was pleasantly surprised by the thriving running culture in Guangzhou, expressing, "There are really so many runners in Guangzhou. I love long-distance running, and people running on the streets is a common sight here, unlike back in my hometown."
As a former national champion in cheerleading and winner of the Nanjing Cheerleading Open, Wang Jiaying recognizes the demands of teamwork in cheerleading. She believes that collectively supporting the Guangzhou Marathon and contributing positive energy to the event is a meaningful endeavor.
