The Wanqingsha Branch Line of the Nansha-Zhongshan Expressway, which connects Guangzhou to the Shenzhen-Zhongshan Link (Shenzhong Link), will open to traffic within 100 days, according to a mobilization meeting for major construction projects held by Nansha District on August 1.
Upon its opening, the Wanqingsha Branch Line will facilitate a 15-minute drive from Nansha, Guangzhou, to Zhongshan, and a 20-minute commute to Shenzhen.

To efficiently connect Nansha's urban area with the Shenzhong Link, Nansha is striving to complete the improvement of the city's main road network. It is embarking on upgrading projects for Wanhuan West Road, Shinan Road (Phase I), and Fenghuang Avenue. This will form a central axis express corridor running from north to south through the district.
Among the projects, the upgrading of Fenghuang Avenue is proceeding well, and it is anticipated to be fully operational by August 30.
Fenghuang Avenue, which is a main road linking urban Nansha and Wanqingsha area, runs through Huangge Town, Nansha Street, Hengli Town, and Zhujiang Street. The upgrade work spans about 14.87 kilometers and encompasses enhancements to the tunnels and flyovers.

According to the project manager Wang Yan, considering traffic lights are installed at intersections along the road, the upgrade will focus on constructing tunnels and flyovers. This will allow vehicles to swiftly pass without stopping at any traffic lights, thereby achieving rapid transit.
Wang added that when the upgrade is complete, the drive will be shortened from about 40 minutes to 20 minutes from the Nansha District Government to Zhujiang Street, Wanqingsha Town.
Additionally, the construction of the Lingxin Avenue South Extension Line in the southern part of Nansha District is in full swing. Upon completion, it will traverse the Wanqingsha area from north to south, enhancing the regional road network and seamlessly connecting to the Wanqingsha Branch Line of the Nansha-Zhongshan Expressway.
