Gongbei Port witnessed a peak in entry-exit passenger traffic on April 13, with a total of 358,000 passengers in a single day, following the 349,200 passengers recorded on January 20, according to statistics from the Gongbei Frontier Inspection Station.
This marked a new high for the year and also set a record for the highest single-day passenger traffic in the past four years. As of the present date, the total number of passengers inspected by the Gongbei Frontier Inspection Station has exceeded 30 million.
Since April, the increasing number of cultural, tourism, sports, and trade activities between Zhuhai and Macao has greatly stimulated the development of tourism in both cities, resulting in a significant increase in the number of entry and exit tourists during holidays and weekends, mainly for tourism purposes.
According to the Gongbei Frontier Inspection Station, the number of tourists back and forth holding travel visas reached over 70,000 on April 13, setting a new high for the past three months.
The reopening of the entry and exit joint inspection hall at Gongbei Port on March 15 brought the first extreme passenger flow at Gongbei Port, which effectively tested the capacity of all passenger inspection halls. This has provided a scientific reference for the upcoming passenger flow peaks during the May Day holiday and summer vacation.
