Enjoy a spectacular underwater Chinese cultural performance in Guangzhou

On the morning of October 1st, a special National Day-themed mermaid show titled "Chinese Opera Under the Sea "was held at the Grandview Aquarium. In the massive underwater tank, an eastern mermaid dressed in traditional Chinese red performed gracefully, wielding a Chinese opera spear while dancing to captivating Chinese-style music beneath the waves.

Soon after, a Sichuan opera face-changing artist, dressed in black opera attire, took the center stage. With swift movements, he transitioned from a "fierce black face" to a "cheerful red face" in mere seconds, astonishing the audience by switching between eight different masks within minutes, prompting applause and amazement.

According to the Aquarium, in celebration of National Day and to extend best wishes to the nation, it also organized a unique flag-raising ceremony titled "Underwater Red Star Celebrates the National Day" Three divers descended into the water to unfurl a nine-meter-long China's national flag in the tank. In front of the flag, five mermaids gracefully formed a yellow "five-pointed star", creating a striking image with the vibrant red backdrop.

Visitors eagerly waved their small national flags in response, fully immersed in the distinctive atmosphere of this special holiday event.

"This is my first time witnessing a flag-raising ceremony underwater. It's refreshing and incredibly creative. My whole family loved it!" said Mr. Li, a visitor.
