The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs of China recently released the 2024 Beautiful Rural China Leisure Tourism (Autumn) Boutique Attractions and Routes. Guangdong Province boasts 2 boutique routes and 7 boutique attractions.
Shenzhen City: Guangming Urban-Rural Leisure Tourism Route
Boutique Spot 1: Hongqiao Park
Hongqiao Park covers an area of about 4.03 million square meters. It is one of Shenzhen's key suburban forest parks. The 4-kilometer-long Hongqiao (Rainbow Bridge) seems like a red ribbon dancing amidst the green forest. Here, visitors can experience the transition from the city center to the forest ecology and have a wonderful encounter with nature. Standing on the bridge, visitors can overlook the city skyline.
Boutique Spot 2: Guangming Farm Daguan Garden
Guangming Farm Daguan Garden is located on Guangming Street, covering an area of about 333,000 square meters. It is the first national AAAA-level tourist attraction in Guangming District. With modern agricultural leisure as its theme, it integrates agricultural and animal husbandry production, natural ecology, agricultural science popularization, and leisure experience. Visitors can observe the process of cow feeding and milking, take photos with the largest "cow" in China, and experience the visual enjoyment brought by space plants and various agricultural technologies.
Boutique Spot 3: Jingkou Ancient Village
Jingkou Ancient Village, with a history of over 800 years, is one of the few natural ancient villages in Shenzhen. Based on the Cantonese Huang clan culture, Jingkou Village was once the base of the Eastern Guangdong People's Liberation Army and is rich in ecological cultural tourism resources, including non-material cultural heritage, overseas Chinese returnees, educated youth, and many cultural elements, as well as historic and cultural architectural structures such as Huang's Ancestral Hall, fortified towers, ancient wells, and ancient trees.
Boutique Spot 4: Happy Countryside
Happy Countryside, located on Xinhu Street, covers a total area of 3.8 square kilometers. It is the largest contiguous high-standard farmland in Shenzhen. Relying on basic farmland, it has been built into a demonstration area for modern urban leisure agriculture, inheriting Shenzhen's agricultural memories. From October to November, visitors can come to enjoy agricultural landscapes such as thousand-mu rice paddies, sunflower fields, dragon-scale terraced fields, and colorful rice paddies.
Taishan City: Patriotic Tourism and Agricultural Fun Route
Boutique Spot 1: Caoping Village
Caoping Village is a key rural tourism village in China. Its traditional folk houses are Cantonese-style, with 90 existing ones, including three ancestral halls built during the Qing Dynasty. Adhering to the principle of restoring old buildings to their original condition, Caoping Village has created beautiful ecological natural landscapes by revitalizing distinctive buildings, improving supporting facilities, and optimizing the surrounding environment, highlighting the beautiful rural scenery of "seeing mountains, seeing water, and remembering nostalgia."
Boutique Spot 2: Taishan China Agricultural Park
Taishan China Agricultural Park covers an area of 800 square kilometers, integrating agricultural production, sightseeing, rural leisure, ecological protection, education, and science popularization into a comprehensive park for leisure agriculture and tourism. The park includes the largest grain production base in Guangdong, a national eel export base, vegetable production bases, saltwater and freshwater aquaculture bases, fruit planting bases, and flower planting bases.
Boutique Spot 3: Haikou Port
Located at the confluence of the Datong River and the Duanfen River, Haikou Port is not only a market town in the countryside but also an immigration passage and an important port for local people to go abroad for a living.
Haikou Port features the Yinxin Museum and the Yinxin Memorial Square. The Yinxin Cultural Ancient Street in Haikou Port is lined with distinctive rows of shophouses. The shophouses along the street boast exquisite architectural craftsmanship and refined wall decorations, blending Chinese and Western styles and preserving the typical architectural features of overseas Chinese hometowns. The Yinxin Museum displays over a thousand pieces of Yinxin and other overseas remittance documents from Taishan, as well as photographs depicting the hard work of Taishan's overseas Chinese and their support for the country's construction.
