Nansha to build independent rail transit network

The Guangzhou Rail Transit Network Plan (2018-2035) was published online to solicit public opinions on August 2. One of the key points of the plan is to build Nansha district's independent rail network, as well as to consolidate and upgrade Guangzhou's international comprehensive transportation hub function.
It also mentions constructing high-speed subways in Guangzhou, extending Metro Lines 18 and 22 from north to south, adding Metro Lines 17, 28, and 37, as well as creating transportation infrastructure so that Nansha, China-Singapore Guangzhou Knowledge City, Zengcheng, Conghua, Huadu, and other areas can reach Guangzhou's downtown within 30 minutes.
In the future, Nansha's independent rail transit network will be built to strengthen transportation between Nansha, Shenzhen, Hong Kong, Zhuhai, and Macao, as well as to support the comprehensive cooperation between Nansha, Hong Kong, and Macao.
An independent rail transit network, spanning nearly 300 kilometers, is planned to be built in the Nansha district, which will strengthen the connection between various industries in the district, as well as provide the strongest transportation support for the development of Nansha as a sub-center of Guangzhou.
The plan also includes an urban rail transit system for Guangzhou consisting of high-speed subways, express subways, and regular-speed subways, with a total scale of 53 lines and 2,029 kilometers. Compared with the previous round of planning, 30 new lines spanning 1,004 kilometers have been added.
