This new international route will be operated on a weekly basis and it will take about 9 hours to reach the destination.
”Currently, there is no direct flight from Entebbe to China. The new direct flight will bring an amazing opportunity to tap into this gap. Before the Covid-19 pandemic, there were more than 25,000 passengers from China to Uganda, according to 2019 travel data,” said Shakila Rahim Lamar, Head of Public Relations at Uganda Airlines.
With an aim to facilitate the travel of businessmen, students, and diplomats from both sides and provide cargo services, the airline will use Airbus A330neo for this route.
The new aircraft has 20 lie-flat business class seats, 28 premium economy class seats, and 210 economy class seats. Passengers will find a spacious interior onboard.
As early as 2020. the East African airline announced its plan to fly to Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport.
