“I've always loved figure skating since I was a kid”, although coming from South China’s Hong Kong where the winter is almost without snow, Hugo Jiang, a student now studying in Peking University, signed up for a figure skating class before this year’s Spring Festival. His coach is Yana Wang, a former Russian professional figure skating athlete.
According to Yana, she came to Beijing after retiring from the Russian national team. “I really like this city, it’s very modern,” Yana also recalled that when she came to China, people in Beijing warmly welcomed her. Now, she has lived in Beijing for more than one year. “When I was young, my dream was to be a coach”, said Yana. Now, Beijing is the place to fulfill her dreams of ice and snow.
