As of October 6, at least 41,870 Palestinians, including nearly 16,765 children, have been killed and 97,166 injured in the Israeli military offensive in the Gaza Strip, following the deadly Hamas attack on Israel on October 7, 2023, according to the Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza.
As the Gaza war enters its second year, what have the people of Gaza endured? Why have so many Palestinians remained in this deadly region? What are the challenges of fleeing the war zone? GDToday's special report, Gaza: From Open-air Prison to Slaughterhouse, will be released on October 8 and 9 to explore these questions in depth.
