On December 24, the publication premiere of a collection of books relating the history and culture of the city kicked off in Foshan, featuring the debut of the sixth series as well as the Chinese-English version for the second series. The collection aims to show a more realistic, three-dimensional and comprehensive Foshan to the world.

The sixth series of the collection covers 10 categories of books, while the Chinese-English versions for the second series include two books, namely, Cantonese Opera of Foshan, China and Ceramic Culture of Foshan, China. In consistent with the reading habits of foreign readers, these two books present Foshan's local culture and Chinese stories to the world.

The collection of books is a long-term cultural project started in March 2016. Foshan Media Group and Foshan Daily worked together to set up the Foshan History and Culture Research Center, responsible for the compilation and publication of the collection.
Since the first series was published in 2016, the collection has been published continuously at a rate of 10 volumes per year. So far, it has now published 60 volumes with six series. By 2027, a total of 120 volumes will be compiled and published according to a schedule.

The compilation of the seventh series of the collection has been underway since September this year. The Chinese-English versions for the third series will also be compiled in the near future, and it is expected to be published in the fourth quarter of next year.
With a publication history of six consecutive years, the collection has served as a significant spotlight for Foshan culture and even Lingnan culture. It plays an important and far-reaching role in shaping the city's appearance and enhancing the reputation as well as influence of Foshan as a long-lasting city with profound Lingnan culture.
