The Guangdong Museum Collection Database has been officially put into use recently, which will later be made freely available to the public. With the database, you will have information on all museum collections in the province at your fingertips.
This database boasts to include more than a million objects from museum collections across the province. Visitors will be able to enjoy some of the hottest exhibitions in Guangdong online. All exhibits are displayed online together with such information about them as the introduction of the artists, the context in which the artworks were created, the museums that collect them, etc.
By the end of 2022, there were 377 registered museums in Guangdong, with a total of 2,651,100 pieces (sets) of museum collections. According to the Department of Culture and Tourism of Guangdong Province, more museum collection data will be added to the database and shared with the public soon.
